Clean the Bay is a Rhode Island based non-profit agency working to ensure that our coastal waterways and shorelines are clear of large marine debris.
Through federal and state funding, public-private partnerships, private donations and fee for service, Clean the Bay seeks out and removes large marine debris and properly disposes of it. Equipped with a mechanized fleet and an ambitious crew, Clean The Bay has removed over 1,400 tons of debris from RI Shores since 2005.
The boats in our fleet include a 56’ Mechanized Landing Craft furnished with a 3 ton crane for towing and lifting large objects and a 28’ Aluminum Landing Craft with a very small draft for getting close to the shoreline and additional towing. Clean the Bay works with local, state and federal agencies as well as private businesses and residents to coordinate debris removal and disposal.
